Mark Burry
Professor Mark Burry es Director Fundador del Swinburne’s Smart Cities Research Institute, desde el año 2017. Fue profesor de Urban Futures en la Universidad de Melbourne en la Facultad de Arquitectura, Construcción y Planificación.
Mark ha publicado internacionalmente sobre dos temas principales: la vida y la obra del arquitecto Antoni Gaudí. También ha publicado ampliamente sobre cuestiones más amplias de diseño, construcción y uso de computadoras en teoría y práctica del diseño. Como arquitecto del Templo Sagrada Familia desde 1979, Mark está desentrañando los misterios de las estrategias compositivas de Gaudí. En 2006, Mark recibió el premio de financiamiento más prestigioso del Consejo de Investigación de Australia, una "Beca de la Federación" durante cinco años. Mark también fue Director del RMIT’s Spatial Information Architecture Laboratory (SIAL).

This studio is an intensive course of one month that seeks to promote among participants the development of innovative proposals within the framework of several scales around Smart Cities for the current context and challenges present in Chile. The course will have professor Mark Burry, Director of Smart Cities Research Institute, Swinburne University as invited professor to run a workshop as final part of this course. The final goal of this course is to share and extend the knowledge about Architecture and Smart Cities Strategies for Chilean context and establish creative synergies among the participants. Therefore, the course is opened to invite students from other universities.
